Prescription Drug Low Income Subsidy (LIS)

Anyone who has Medicare can get Medicare prescription drug coverage. Some people with limited resources and income may also be able to get Extra Help to pay for the costs - monthly premiums, annual deductibles, and prescription co-payments - related to a Medicare prescription drug plan. To qualify for the Extra Help, a person must be receiving Medicare, have limited resources and income, and reside in one of the 50 States or the District of Columbia.

These amounts may change. You may qualify even if you have a higher income (for example, if you still work, live in Alaska or Hawaii, or have dependents living with you). Resources include money in a checking or savings account, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). Resources don't include your home, car, household items, burial plot, up to $1,500 for burial expenses (per person), or life insurance policies.

If you get extra help from Medicare to help pay for your Medicare prescription drug plan costs, your ATRIO monthly plan premium and prescription drug copays will be lower than what it would be if you did not get extra help from Medicare. The amount of extra help you get will determine your total monthly plan premium and prescription drug copays as a member of our Plan. See the document available below for the premium and copays amounts you would pay if you received extra help.
